Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of municipal infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment, such as asphalt pavers, graders, and backhoes, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents, such as snow and ice removal, with urgency and professionalism.
- Assist in the installation and repair of traffic signs, guardrails, and street lighting fixtures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, adhering to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with other city departments and contractors to coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical trade school certification is a plus.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required endorsements.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in public works, construction, or general mechanical maintenance.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
