Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and public buildings.
- Inspect construction sites and city facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and engineering standards.
- Operate heavy machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently, including dump trucks, loaders, and jackhammers.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, material usage, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Respond to citizen service requests and inquiries regarding public works issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of projects, including site preparation, erosion control, and traffic management.
- Collaborate with city engineers and other department heads to execute city improvement plans.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Oklahoma Class C Driver’s License is mandatory with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment operation and safety protocols is a plus.
- Strong commitment to public service and excellent communication skills.
