Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance of streets, alleys, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, graders, and street sweepers, in strict accordance with safety protocols.
- Respond to and resolve citizen inquiries regarding public works services promptly and professionally.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter weather events to ensure public safety.
- Conduct routine safety checks on traffic signals, signs, and pavement markings.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical principles and safety regulations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
