Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and public parks.
- Operate heavy machinery and construction equipment, including graders, rollers, and loaders, safely and efficiently.
- Inspect public infrastructure to identify hazards, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests from the public and other city departments.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports regarding daily work activities and equipment usage.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to prioritize tasks and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License (Class B) is preferred.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is a plus but not required.
- Strong commitment to public service, integrity, and community safety.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and work independently.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safety protocols.
