Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal infrastructure including parks, public facilities, and transportation assets
- Respond to citizen inquiries and service requests with professionalism and efficiency
- Conduct regular inspections of public spaces to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement projects
- Prepare detailed reports on facility conditions and maintenance activities
- Participate in emergency response protocols during weather events or public safety incidents
- Train and mentor junior staff on municipal operations best practices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- 2+ years experience in municipal services, public works, or related field
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Strong knowledge of Mesa's geography and municipal systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills with diverse community stakeholders
- Proficiency in work order management software and GIS mapping tools
