Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repairs on public facilities, roads, and green spaces
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., graders, snowplows) safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency situations during extreme weather events
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Support community events and public safety initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Michigan Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and power tools
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
