Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of public facilities, parks, and streets
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure projects
- Enforce municipal codes and safety regulations in assigned zones
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during all weather conditions
- Document work activities and maintain accurate records
- Participate in public outreach initiatives for community engagement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic proficiency with municipal software systems
