Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of public infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and parks.
- Inspect city facilities and equipment to ensure safety standards and compliance with regulations.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents promptly.
- Operate heavy machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently according to standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to complete large-scale municipal projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and inventory usage.
- Adhere strictly to all city safety policies and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Michigan Driverβs License (Class C) and a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is highly preferred.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and physical assessment.
