Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and light vehicles, including trash trucks and maintenance equipment.
- Respond to emergency service requests and perform snow and ice removal during adverse weather conditions.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment for self and others.
- Inspect public infrastructure for safety hazards and report findings to supervisors immediately.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments to ensure cohesive community service delivery.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Maryland Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of construction, maintenance, or sanitation practices is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- Pass a background check and drug screening.
