Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal facilities and public infrastructure
- Operate heavy equipment (e.g., dump trucks, graders) for public works projects
- Respond to emergency service calls including snow removal and storm damage cleanup
- Conduct safety inspections of public spaces and report hazards
- Assist with community events and beautification initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of work activities and materials usage
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on urban development projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience operating heavy machinery or construction equipment
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of municipal safety protocols
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
