Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including street sweeping, litter pickup, and park maintenance to ensure city-wide cleanliness.
- Maintain public infrastructure by repairing sidewalks, clearing drains, and assisting in pothole repairs.
- Operate and maintain light equipment such as sweepers, dump trucks, and jackhammers under supervision.
- Ensure safety compliance by adhering to OSHA standards and wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report hazards and unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately to prevent accidents.
- Assist in emergency response during inclement weather events, such as snow removal or flood control.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or municipal services is preferred but not mandatory.
- Driver’s License: A valid Texas Class C Driver’s License is required.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Skills: Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills; ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Availability: Must be available to work a full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
