Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (snow plows, graders, dump trucks) for infrastructure maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Manage park maintenance including landscaping, playground equipment, and athletic fields
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols in all operations
- Respond to weather emergencies and disaster recovery efforts
- Coordinate with engineering teams for infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrakes endorsement
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Certification in equipment operation (e.g., OSHA 10-hour construction)
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs
- Strong physical stamina for lifting (up to 50 lbs) and outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory management
