Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city facilities, parks, and public infrastructure including playgrounds, benches, and pathways
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment for green spaces and urban forestry projects
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on city property
- Respond to service requests and emergency repairs during weather events
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on community improvement initiatives
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Document maintenance activities and submit progress reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational certification in maintenance or construction preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in facility maintenance, landscaping, or public works
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to operate power tools, heavy machinery, and irrigation systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices
