Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of public parks, green spaces, and recreational facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including trucks, mowers, and construction equipment safely
- Conduct routine inspections of city infrastructure and report maintenance needs
- Assist in emergency response operations during severe weather events
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on community improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of work activities and resource usage
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA safety standards and municipal protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (CDL preferred)
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor labor in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment physical
