Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain security protocols during night shift hours
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and facility inspections
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with appropriate de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents and maintain accurate shift reports
- Collaborate with healthcare and rehabilitation staff for inmate welfare
- Enforce facility rules and state correctional regulations
- Participate in mandatory training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Valid Tennessee driver's license
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass background check and physical fitness assessment
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work rotating night shifts and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for report documentation
