Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to ensure security and order
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to maintain institutional safety protocols
- Respond to emergencies including medical incidents, altercations, and security breaches
- Document incidents, reports, and observations with precision and confidentiality
- Operate security systems including control panels, surveillance equipment, and communication devices
- Escort inmates within the facility and during transfers while maintaining custody protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and internal stakeholders during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Proficiency in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and teamwork
- Physical fitness to meet tactical requirements and emergency response demands
- Availability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays
