Responsibilities
- Supervise inmate activities and conduct regular headcounts to ensure accountability
- Enforce facility rules and respond to incidents with appropriate intervention protocols
- Conduct thorough searches of persons, cells, and common areas to maintain security
- Monitor surveillance systems and patrol facility grounds to prevent escapes and disturbances
- Document incidents, maintain accurate logs, and prepare detailed reports
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid/CPR when necessary
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless shift transitions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be at least 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen
- Pass comprehensive background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on rotating schedule
- Valid Ohio driver's license with acceptable driving record
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
