Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and facility security during night shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and surveillance of all facility areas
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents per protocol
- Maintain accurate incident reports and security documentation
- Enforce facility rules and state regulations with professionalism
- Collaborate with day-shift staff for seamless operations
- Participate in mandatory training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year security or law enforcement experience
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure situations
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong communication skills in English and Spanish (bilingual preferred)
- Physical stamina for standing/walking 8+ hours per shift
