Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and conduct security patrols during overnight hours
- Enforce institutional rules and respond to incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Perform headcounts and maintain accurate inmate movement logs
- Conduct searches of facilities and personnel to prevent contraband
- Operate electronic surveillance systems and access control equipment
- Provide emergency medical assistance until EMT arrival
- Write detailed incident and activity reports
- Coordinate with law enforcement during transport operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Must be 21+ years old and U.S. citizen
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness test
- Ability to obtain Massachusetts Correctional Officer certification
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement preferred
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
