Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities during overnight shifts to ensure facility security
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to maintain order and prevent contraband
- Respond to emergencies, altercations, and medical incidents with appropriate protocols
- Enforce institutional rules and document incidents accurately in daily logs
- Screen visitors and incoming packages according to departmental policies
- Collaborate with day-shift officers for seamless transition of critical information
Qualifications
- Nevada Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Valid Nevada driver's license
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Strong conflict resolution skills and crisis management abilities
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
