Responsibilities
- Learn to answer emergency and non-emergency calls for service efficiently and accurately.
- Process and disseminate information to police, fire, and medical units in the field.
- Utilize Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to log calls and track units.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity and situation reports.
- Provide support and information to the public via telephone and radio.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to type accurately at a minimum speed of 35-40 WPM (assessed during interview).
- Must possess a valid driverβs license and acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Must successfully pass a background investigation and medical examination.
