Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security patrols and headcounts to ensure compliance
- Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations
- Document daily operations, incidents, and inmate behavior accurately
- Screen visitors and incoming packages according to department protocols
- Collaborate with day-shift staff for seamless transition and continuity
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Certification in CPR and first aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
