Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security patrols and headcounts to maintain order
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document all incidents, observations, and security breaches per departmental procedures
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and access controls
- Collaborate with day shift teams for seamless transition and information sharing
- Conduct searches for contraband to ensure facility safety
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Valid New York State driver's license and U.S. citizenship
- Ability to pass rigorous background check, physical fitness assessment, and drug screening
- Minimum 21 years of age with no felony convictions
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
