Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security checks and perimeter patrols
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during critical situations
- Operate security systems and control room equipment
- Provide support to daytime operations through shift transition protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid NC Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification
- Minimum 21 years of age with US citizenship
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph
- Physical fitness to meet job demands (including lifting, running, and restraint techniques)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments
