Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain security protocols during night shifts
- Conduct regular facility inspections and headcounts to ensure compliance
- Respond to emergencies and incidents following established procedures
- Document incidents and maintain accurate shift logs
- Supervise inmate work programs and educational activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
- Enforce institutional rules and report behavioral concerns
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas driver's license
- No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and physical fitness test
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work rotating night shifts and holidays
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
- Previous security or military experience preferred
