Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain secure facility operations during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to enforce protocols
- Respond to emergencies, altercations, and medical incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document incident reports and maintain accurate shift logs
- Screen visitors and packages for contraband per department policies
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Kentucky driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, physical agility test, and psychological evaluation
- Basic First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in high-stress environments
- Previous security or corrections experience highly valued
