Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities within correctional facilities to ensure safety and compliance
- Conduct regular security checks and headcounts to maintain facility integrity
- Respond to emergencies and incidents following established protocols
- Document daily activities and incidents in official reports
- Screen visitors and incoming/outgoing mail/packages for contraband
- Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain order
- Collaborate with law enforcement and healthcare professionals during emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Minimum 1 year of security or law enforcement experience
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness test
- Strong communication skills and crisis intervention abilities
- Must be available for night shift rotations and overtime
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and residency in California
