Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (snow plows, graders, sweepers) for highway maintenance and snow removal
- Perform nighttime road repairs, signage installation, and traffic control setup
- Conduct safety inspections of infrastructure and report hazards
- Collaborate with emergency response teams during overnight incidents
- Maintain equipment logs and perform basic preventative maintenance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and IDOT safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience
- Ability to work independently in low-visibility conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic knowledge of traffic control setup and flagging procedures
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and withstand extreme weather conditions
