Responsibilities
- Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor federal networks and systems for security threats and anomalies during night shift hours.
- Incident Response: Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring rapid containment and remediation.
- Security Compliance: Enforce federal security protocols and ensure adherence to compliance standards (NIST, FISMA).
- Access Control: Manage and audit user access privileges to ensure only authorized personnel have access to sensitive data.
- Reporting: Generate detailed security reports and maintain accurate logs of security events.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the day shift team to hand over critical alerts and ensure seamless 24/7 security coverage.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certification: Active Secret Clearance or higher is required. CISSP, Security+, or CEH certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, cybersecurity, or network administration within a federal or government-contracted environment.
- Night Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work night shifts (typically 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, SolarWinds), firewalls, and SIEM systems.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document complex technical issues clearly.
