Responsibilities
- Monitor server performance, networks, and applications 24/7 during the night shift to ensure minimal downtime and system stability.
- Perform routine maintenance, security patches, and updates on servers and workstations outside of standard business hours.
- Respond to critical system alerts and resolve technical issues with speed and precision.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security protocols to safeguard sensitive government data.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to coordinate system changes and implement long-term solutions.
- Document all system configurations, incidents, and resolutions in the IT service management database.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent military experience.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or A+ are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Proven ability to work independently and effectively during night hours (swing shift).
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
