Responsibilities
- Monitor emergency communications systems and dispatch appropriate public safety units
- Manage high-pressure crisis situations with calm decision-making and clear communication protocols
- Maintain detailed records of all calls, incidents, and response actions
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and emergency notification platforms
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Conduct regular equipment checks and system maintenance
- Participate in continuous training drills and scenario-based exercises
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years emergency communications or public safety experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain EMD certification within 6 months
- Proficiency in CAD systems and emergency response software
- Exceptional crisis management and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license and clean record
- Pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
