Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls with exceptional speed and accuracy during emergency situations
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communication equipment
- Coordinate resources between law enforcement, fire, and EMS units
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incident reports
- Provide critical information to field units during active incidents
- Remain calm and professional under extreme pressure and high call volumes
- Adhere to all federal, state, and departmental communication protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid North Carolina driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- US citizenship or permanent resident status
- Experience with multi-tasking in fast-paced environments preferred
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving dishonesty
