Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume emergency calls during night shifts, prioritizing life-threatening situations
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units with precise location and incident details
- Maintain accurate logs in CAD/RMS systems during critical nighttime operations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during after-hours crises and natural disasters
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation to callers in distress
- Operate radio communication systems for nighttime field operations
- Collaborate with overnight hospital and security personnel
- Participate in continuous training for new protocols and technologies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years in emergency dispatch, call center, or public safety
- NCTE/NCIC certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Typing speed: 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Experience in high-stress, fast-paced night shift environments
- Proficient in CAD/RMS systems (e.g., Motorola, Spillman)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) certification highly desirable
- Ability to multitask during simultaneous critical incidents
