Responsibilities
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units for emergency incidents during night shift hours
- Maintain accurate real-time tracking of all field units using CAD/RMS systems
- Calmly extract critical information from distressed callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents and disasters
- Document all communications with meticulous attention to detail and legal compliance
- Operate radio equipment and specialized emergency communication software
- Provide pre-arrival emergency medical instructions when applicable
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year public safety dispatch or customer service experience
- Valid Arizona driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Proficiency with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- EMT certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (6PM-6AM)
