Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems and patrol designated areas to ensure public safety during overnight hours
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, incidents, and security threats within Austin city limits
- Document all activities, incidents, and observations using standardized reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency services during critical situations
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify security vulnerabilities
- Provide assistance to citizens and resolve conflicts during overnight operations
- Maintain strict adherence to state safety protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; associate's degree in criminal justice preferred
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in security, law enforcement, or related field
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Must pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Basic first aid/CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays as needed
