Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the government facility to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations immediately, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Write detailed reports of daily activities, irregularities, equipment or property damage, theft, and presence of unauthorized persons.
- Assist in the evacuation of the building in the event of fire or other emergencies, ensuring all personnel are accounted for.
- Monitor and operate CCTV systems to identify potential security breaches or suspicious activities.
- Enforce all company policies and safety protocols strictly to maintain a secure environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Louisiana Security License (Class B) is mandatory.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to stand, walk, or run for extended periods and perform physical tasks as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to de-escalate tense situations professionally.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and alert during night shifts and in emergency situations.
