Responsibilities
- Monitor and secure facility perimeters and interior spaces during the night shift to prevent unauthorized access.
- Patrol grounds and buildings to ensure the safety of staff, inmates, and visitors.
- Respond immediately to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations following established protocols.
- Conduct thorough searches of individuals and areas to enforce security rules and regulations.
- Document all incidents, observations, and facility conditions in the official security log.
- Communicate effectively with shift supervisors and other law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- Maintain a high level of physical fitness and readiness at all times.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible for citizenship.
- Valid New York State Driverβs License preferred.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screening, and medical evaluation.
- Strong observation skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to work rotating night shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or corrections is a plus but not mandatory.
