Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate personnel using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate radio communications with field units during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions via Emergency Medical Dispatch protocols
- Enter/update sensitive information in law enforcement databases with precision
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents or disasters
- Monitor surveillance systems and alarm activations for city-wide threats
- Document all communications per NIMS standards and department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 1+ years customer service experience
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Pass extensive background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn specialized software
- Calm demeanor under pressure with exceptional conflict resolution skills
- U.S. citizenship and residency in California for minimum 3 years
