Responsibilities
- Patrol municipal buildings and facilities during overnight hours (11 PM - 7 AM)
- Monitor surveillance systems and respond to security alerts with urgency
- Conduct access control procedures for employees and authorized personnel
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed activity logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
- Perform safety inspections and report maintenance needs
- Enforce city ordinances and safety regulations on assigned premises
Qualifications
- Valid Maryland Security Guard License (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years security or law enforcement experience
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods during shift
- Proficient in using surveillance technology and reporting software
- Must pass background check and drug screening
