Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned municipal facilities and perimeters during overnight shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- Monitor surveillance systems and respond to security alerts with immediate action protocols
- Conduct access control procedures for employees and visitors during non-standard hours
- Document incident reports and maintain detailed security logs using digital systems
- Coordinate with emergency services (police, fire) during critical situations
- Perform safety inspections of infrastructure and report maintenance needs
- Operate specialized security equipment including biometric scanners and thermal cameras
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Security Guard License (SMA certification preferred)
- Minimum 2 years experience in security or law enforcement
- Ability to obtain government security clearance (background check required)
- Proficient in surveillance technology and incident reporting software
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and de-escalation techniques
- Must pass physical fitness assessment for night shift requirements
