Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security patrols and headcounts every 30 minutes
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and behavioral interventions
- Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation
- Operate electronic security systems and control room equipment
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
- Enforce rehabilitation programs and educational protocols
Qualifications
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and drug screening
- Physical fitness to handle emergencies and restrain inmates if needed
- Strong communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- No felony convictions
