Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and conduct regular security rounds during overnight shifts
- Enforce facility rules and protocols to maintain order and safety
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with appropriate protocols
- Conduct headcounts and inspections to ensure compliance with security procedures
- Document incidents, observations, and operational reports with precision
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and access controls
- Collaborate with day shift personnel for seamless transition of critical information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Physical fitness to meet job demands including standing/walking for extended periods
- Must be 18+ years old with no felony convictions
- Strong communication skills for effective inmate/staff interactions
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
