Responsibilities
- Manage Server Infrastructure: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux environments to ensure 24/7 availability of state services.
- System Maintenance: Execute scheduled patch management, updates, and backups during the night shift to minimize disruption to day operations.
- Network Administration: Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, ensuring secure data transmission across state agencies.
- Security Compliance: Enforce security protocols and perform vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive government data.
- Incident Response: Respond to system alerts and critical incidents during off-hours, escalating when necessary to ensure rapid resolution.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs and technical documentation for all system configurations and changes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in system administration, network engineering, or IT support.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Active Directory, PowerShell, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Shift Requirement: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (typically 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM).
- Communication: Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and write clear documentation.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
