Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain highway safety systems during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Respond to traffic incidents and coordinate emergency services across King County
- Operate specialized traffic control equipment and road closure signage
- Conduct regular infrastructure inspections and document maintenance needs
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
- Implement winter weather response protocols during seasonal operations
Qualifications
- Valid Washington State driver's license with clean record
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in transportation or public safety
- Ability to work independently in low-visibility conditions
- Certification in traffic control or emergency management (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication skills for coordinating multi-agency responses
- Physical ability to operate equipment in all weather conditions
