Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain highway infrastructure during overnight hours, including pavement inspection and signage verification
- Coordinate emergency response for traffic incidents and weather-related road conditions
- Operate specialized equipment for lane closures and traffic control setup
- Submit detailed maintenance reports and collaborate with day shift teams
- Ensure compliance with Michigan Department of Transportation safety protocols
- Conduct routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
- Communicate effectively with law enforcement and emergency services
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License (Class A) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in transportation maintenance or related field
- Ability to work independently in varying weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Basic knowledge of traffic control devices and MUTCD standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and physical stamina for overnight shifts
