Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean public parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, and recreational facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for visitors.
- Assist in the planning, setup, and breakdown of community events, festivals, and sports leagues.
- Perform landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, raking, and planting flowers and shrubs.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and edgers, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
- Conduct routine inspections of park facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and report hazards.
- Assist with snow removal and ice control during winter months to maintain safe access in public areas.
- Monitor park usage and enforce rules to ensure the safety of all patrons.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or public works is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting, bending, and standing.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong commitment to customer service and community engagement.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment operation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
