Responsibilities
- Maintain park landscapes, athletic fields, and recreational facilities to City safety and aesthetic standards
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment including irrigation systems, mowers, and power tools
- Lead recreational programs for youth, adults, and seniors (sports, fitness classes, special events)
- Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors and program participants
- Monitor facility usage, enforce safety protocols, and report maintenance needs
- Assist in planning and executing community festivals and seasonal events
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on park improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in recreation management preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in park maintenance, landscaping, or recreation services
- Certification in CPR/First Aid required (training provided)
- Valid Nevada driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Proficiency with basic hand/power tools and irrigation systems
- Strong communication skills and passion for community engagement
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
