Responsibilities
- Maintain Park Facilities: Perform routine cleaning, landscaping, and upkeep of park buildings, restrooms, and playgrounds to ensure a welcoming environment for families.
- Lawn and Grounds Maintenance: Mow, edge, trim, and water grass and landscaping; maintain flower beds and athletic fields to the highest standards of aesthetics.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate power mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and other gardening equipment as assigned.
- Event Support: Assist in setting up, maintaining, and breaking down equipment for community events, sports leagues, and public programs.
- Enforcement of Rules: Monitor park activities to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations, and assist in enforcing park use policies.
- Pest Control: Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides following all safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or custodial services is preferred but not mandatory.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, and push heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods; work in various weather conditions.
- Driver's License: Valid Texas Driver's License is required.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of gardening tools and machinery; strong attention to detail.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with the public and fellow team members.
