Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain park facilities, playgrounds, and athletic courts to ensure safety and accessibility
- Lead recreation programs including youth sports, arts & crafts, and community events
- Perform routine landscape maintenance including irrigation, planting, and debris removal
- Enforce park regulations and provide excellent customer service to diverse visitors
- Assist with special events, setup, and emergency response protocols
- Collaborate with maintenance staff for facility repairs and improvements
- Complete daily activity logs and safety inspection reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in recreation management preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in parks, groundskeeping, or customer service roles
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual Spanish highly desirable
- Experience with event planning and youth program coordination
- Knowledge of basic horticulture and park maintenance equipment operation
