Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate park equipment including mowers, trimmers, irrigation systems, and hand tools
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of playgrounds, athletic fields, and walking trails
- Assist in event setup/breakdown for community festivals and recreational activities
- Ensure park cleanliness and safety standards through daily maintenance routines
- Operate city-provided vehicles for equipment transport and site visits
- Collaborate with team members on seasonal beautification projects
- Document maintenance activities and equipment usage in digital tracking systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- Ability to safely operate and maintain park equipment (training provided)
- Experience in grounds maintenance or recreation preferred
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols for public facilities
- Excellent communication skills for public interaction
- Must pass background check and drug screening
